Melanie Stephens is a freelance writer and photographer based in the mountains of Colorado.

Her published writing and photography credits include Time, Outside, Climbing, Skiing, Women's Sports and Fitness, Patagonia, World Pulse, and Alpenglow Magazines, ESPN Sports, the Chicago Tribune and Denver Post Newspapers, among others.

In addition to her freelance journalistic work, Stephens experiments with alternative photographic techniques and Polaroid processes. Her photographic work has been shown in both group and solo shows at Denver's Buell Theatre, Women's Art Gallery, Hunter Fine Art, Stella's Gallery, Mead Street Gallery, Common Grounds Gallery, Heart Gallery, MG Gallery, and the Aurora History Museum.
