Iraq
- In March 2003, the United States and coalition forces entered Iraq by force. Nearly one year later, the country's feared dictator, Saddam Hussein was found hiding out in a hole and arrested.
What about the Iraqi people? Tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians, sometimes referred to as "collateral damage," are reported to have lost their lives in this conflict. This accurately reflects the United Nations' estimate that 90% of today's war casualties are civilians. The large number of deceased has left bereaved family members behind to question what the future holds.
